Stage, screen, and opera star JEANETTE MacDONALD lived from December 31, 1913 - August 11, 2013. Along with Nelson Eddy, Eddy and MacDonald were considered America's Singing Sweethearts. Together they starred in eight musicals throughout their careers. They were acclaimed as the finest singing team in Hollywood, and many felt that they were the best-matched voices in the world. Some hit songs they are remembered for include: Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life, Indian Love Call and Will You Remember.
Offered is this lot are 11 publications from the original (since 1938) Jeanette MacDonald International Fan Club, including ten copies of THE GOLDEN COMET, the official Club magazine; and, THE BELOVED JEANETTE MACDONALD NUMBER 4 published in 1987 as a souvenir edition with a compilation of B&W and color photographs. All are 8 1/2 by 11 inches, side stapled, and usually over 40 pages. All pictured below (my lighting cause some yellow effect that is not there):
