Judge Dredd 1995 - Original Production Crew Jacket - New Condition - VFX Team

For the development and production of the 1995 film, Judge Dredd, a team of many artists helped to conceptualize the world of the character and produced all the elements in the films using different techniques to tell the story.
This is a production supplied crew jacket for the special effects team of Mass Illusion, who produced visual effects including the scenes of the Aspen prison shuttle miniature. The front shield embroidery depicts what is commonly found on the Judges armor to identify each Judge by name, and includes the name "DREDD", with the words "VISUAL / FX" below.  The predominate embroidery on the rear depicts the title "JUDGE DREDD" and logo produced for the film of the eagle with wings seen throughout the films presence of Judges and their base in the Mega City law system. From the Judge's tattoos to signage within their facilities, this logo design was formed to represent the structure of law, and for identity use of each member of law in the story.
Mass Illusion was originally based out of Massachusetts, where they assisted locally-based effects pioneer Doug Trumbull on the Back to the Future ride for Universal Studios, and attractions in Las Vegas before being bought by Cinergi Pictures for the Judge Dredd production, and briefly named as Cinergi F/X. After production wrapped, Cinergi renamed the facility Mass.Illusion. Shortly thereafter in 1997, the company was formed as Mass Illusions LLC through a partnership with The Manex Group.
No tags define the jacket size but it appears to be a large or extra large, heavily insulated, with no apparent flaws. All snaps and zippers are functional. Collar, cuffs and waist band elastic is functional. Stored away since purchased in sealed packaging, this jacket is now over 26 years old and appears as new as it was issued during the production of the film.
